EUDAMED is a medical device database established and maintained by the European Commission. The EUDAMED database consists of six interconnected domains with public and restricted sites. Part of the EUDAMED is open for registrations and searches: the Economical Operator module was launched in 2020 and the device and certificate modules went live just recently, on 4 October 2021. Modules for clinical investigations, PMS/vigilance, and market surveillance will go live later. When fully operational, EUDAMED will provide a living picture of the lifecycle of medical devices that are made available in the European Union (EU).
The EUDAMED device module was launched across the Europe on 4 October 2021, but the transition periods are defined on national level. The Finnish Medicines Agency FIMEA is organizing a webinar on the registration of medical devices on 9th of November 2021.
