Cycling Day 2021 – doing good for the benefit of young people’s mental health
DRA’s Cycling Day, held already for the 16th time, is a sure sign that the summer is approaching. The idea of Cycling Day has, from the very beginning, been to encourage useful physical activity, strengthen team spirit and support a charity by accumulating the donated sum on the basis of the distance cycled.
This year has been special in many ways, and it has had an impact on the lives of many. Restrictions and social isolation have been particularly difficult for young people. From several alternatives, DRA’s employees decided that this year’s donee should be young people’s mental health work. The Association of Friends of the University Children’s Hospitals’ Mielen tila (“State of Mind”) campaign funds proven and effective treatment methods for mental disorders.
“The young are the future, and that is why we are supporting them, whom the COVID-19 times have impacted the hardest”, says DRA’s Managing Director Kaija Korpiaho-Haga.
The charitable exercise day will take place on 19 May. You can follow the atmosphere of the day on social media with the hashtags #pyöräilypäivä2021 and #mielentila
