What does responsibility mean to you? What would you set as your goal for social responsibility in 2022? These are some of the questions that all DRA’s employees were asked in the beginning of this year.
One of DRA’s main strategic themes for this year is social responsibility, which we now expand to involve all our personnel. Setting goals for social responsibility is a natural continuum to the climate and environmental goals that DRA has committed to in the past years.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 served as the starting point for the selection of personal social responsibility goals, and finally, DRA’s employees set nearly 160 new goals ranging from more responsible consumption behaviour, diet and energy usage to recycling, green mobility and charity.
At its best, corporate social responsibility is the sum of an organisation’s members’ actions. Responsibility means making conscious choices and decisions in everyday life. DRA will continue to strive towards its social responsibility goals by supporting projects focused on responsibility and sustainable development. During the past year, we have donated to greener pharmacy, to support for the nurses working at the HUS (Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa) intensive care unit, to mental health work and to humanitarian aid for the crisis area in Ukraine.
A responsible company succeeds in a sustainable way, and besides, social responsibility opens new business possibilities. Social responsibility is also one of the main themes discussed at DRA’s ÄLY jubilee seminar organised in May 2022, at which we will meet e.g. the MEP and Vice-President of the European Parliament, Heidi Hautala, who will speak about corporate social responsibility.
How about you, dear reader, what would be your choice for a sustainability goal? Please join us in putting words to action!
